PRESS RELEASE – FOR IMMEDIATE PUBLICATION

Artists’ Collective Reborn for Spring

Artists’ Collective of Hyde Park has announced a revamp of its exhibition format for 2018. The non-profit arts organization, located in Hyde Park, NY displays artwork by its regional members on a year-round basis with changing themes for each show. Previously shows were 4-5 weeks in duration; going forward each show will be two months long with two featured artists.

The two featured artists will share an entire room for their personally defined art shows. “We’re excited our artists will now have the freedom to plan, curate and hang their personal shows according to their own creative desires,” said spokesperson Barbara Todd. “It will empower visitors to explore each featured artist’s work in more depth while surrounded by that artist’s creative vision and energy.”

The other members’ group shows will occupy the rest of the 5+ room gallery. There will be two events during each show, including the Opening Reception.  The first Opening Reception of 2018, for the member show “Spring Spirit”, will be on February 3 from 5:30-8:30 pm and will celebrate Mardi Gras as well as the show’s theme of longing for Spring. The exhibition will be available through March 25.  The featured artists during this show will be Patricia Buckstrup, a very experienced and often whimsical painter in a variety of mediums, and John Lavin, a ceramicist with a range of interesting styles from small and medium sized vessels to mobiles and wall hanging ceramic pieces.

In conjunction with this change of format, ACHP is seeking new members inclined to actively participate in both creative and administrative projects. Interested and talented artists should contact Elizabeth St. Leger at914-456-6700 or write to achpny@gmail.com.
